Charles Henry Morrill wrote an extensive autobiography. Highlights include being a Private in the Civil War; travelled by covered wagon from New Hampshire to Nebraska where he settled a homestead; he was private secretary to Governor Nance of Nebraska from 1879-1883; he was President of Stromsburg, Nebraska, Bank 1883-1890; helped the Burlington Railroad explore the country and plan the best routes for the railroad lines; friend to William “Buffalo Bill” Cody; member of the Board of Regents of Nebraska State University, 1890-1903.
