William Morrill is found receiving a military pension in 1835, aged 75. He served under the Massachusetts Militia as a private. Pension Roll of 1835. [6]

William Morrill enlisted at Salisbury, Massachusetts, in the Revolutionary War and served as a private. Between 1776 and 1780, he served for three terms as a foot soldier. In 1781, he served on board the brig “Congress” under Capt. Seth Clark for six months off the coast of the West Indies. In 1782 he served on board the ship “Reprisal” under Capt. William P. Johnson for four months off the coast of the West Indies, and later on board the ship “Liberty” under Capt. William Russell for another three months.
