Late in 1781, William Morrill enlisted as a private at Berwick in the Revolutionary War for the term of two years. He served in the company commanded by Capt. William Mills, in the regiment commanded by Col. John Brooks. In his application for pension filed in 1818, when he was living in Moultonborough, he lists his family residing with him as his wife Elizabeth Morrill, his daughter Charlotte Morrill aged twenty two years, his son Joseph Morrill aged twenty years, and his son Sewall Morrill aged sixteen years.
