NOTE: Prior to W6 adjudication (25 Jul 2026), this record’s uncited DEAT.PLAC read “Manhasset, New York”. A 4 Nov 1914 New York Times obituary (transcribed on FamilySearch) reports death at Nyack, N.Y. and names Manhasset as his former political seat (Justice of the Peace, Democratic politics) and the church he was to be buried from — i.e. residence/funeral place, not death place — an ordinary and explainable conflation for a compiler to have made. The NY State Death Index (entry no. 58361) independently gives “S Nyack, New York” for the same 31 Oct 1914 death. Corrected to South Nyack, Rockland Co., New York; “Manhasset, New York” is preserved as the superseded legacy reading, now understood as his residence and funeral-church place rather than his death place.

NOTE: needs independent verification: a cemetery or interment record for Christ Church, Manhasset (or its associated burial ground), confirming actual burial there. The BURI fact above rests solely on citation @S00755@ (a contributor’s transcription of the 4 Nov 1914 NYT obituary) at QUAY 1; the obituary’s own wording — “will be buried from Christ church in Manhasset this afternoon” — states a prospective funeral service, not a confirmed interment site.
