The Roxbury Vital records give the date of death as December 18, 1662. This is likely off by one year, however, as the will is dated December 15, 1661 and proved one month later, January 21, 1661/62.

. - Isaac Morrell emmigrated from England on the ship Lyon, along with his wife “Mrs. Morrell” and two children Sarah and Katherine, landing at Boston in 1632 after 12 weeks at sea. Wife Sarah gave birth two months later, though this child only lived two months. The family settled in Roxbury, Massachusetts on what later became Dudley Street between Washington and Warren Streets. Isaac owned two forges and was eventually one of the four richest men in Roxbury. His sons did not survive, so his descendents derive from his daughters. One of Isaac’s most well known descendents is the 14th President of the United States, Franklin Pierce.
