In 1777, Abraham Morrill joined the Revolutionary Army with the militia of Canterbury under General Burgoyne and participated in the attack of Fort Ticonderoga. He later participated in the Battle at Bennington under General Starks. After about a year of service, he returned to Canterbury and acted as a minute man there for two and a half years. In his deposition, Abraham Morrill says that after the war he removed to Wheelock Vermont for about twenty years, then to Bloomfield New York for about five years, then to Livingston New York for about seven years, and finally to Ogden New York.
