David C. Morrill was a shoemaker in Newburyport, Massachusetts.
David Morrill enlisted in the Civil War October 8, 1861 as a private, Company I, 23rd Regiment Massachusetts Infantry. He was wounded twice, returning to service each time after recuperating. He was finally discharged in 1865 at the end of the war. [4]
