The obituary of Ezra Morrill reads, “At Norfolk (Vir.) Sep 12, after a short but painful illness, Ezra Morrill AEt 22, son of Widow Sarah Morrill, of Salisbury (Mass). This worthy young man possessed a strong and well informed mind–To his parents he was affectionate and dutiful–To his brothers and sisters he was endeared by kindness and steady friendship. His neighbors and acquaintenances bear testimony to his integrity and virtue.” The fact that the obituary does not mention his wife or child may be an indication that we have associated Ruth Worthen with the wrong Ezra.
