Death-date conflict weighed: the gravestone transcription (Rumney Cemeteries) reads 07 APR 1878, while the state death register entry — recorded from the contemporaneous town death return, and naming her parents Geo. W. and B. C. Morrill in agreement with this file — reads 31 MAR 1878. The register is preferred for the date as the record made nearest the event; a stone is carved later and more prone to error. The gravestone citation is retained on the fact.[12]
