NOTE: Middle-initial variant: the 1880 Maine marriage index (FamilySearch ark:/61903/1:1:2HV2-BFP) indexes her as ‘Clara S Libby’. Four independent later records — the 1900 census, the 1910 census, son Herbert’s 1906 marriage record, and daughter Hazel’s 1907 marriage record — all name her ‘Clara L. Libby’ / ‘Clara L Morrill’. The name is recorded here as Clara L. /Libby/, the form the weight of evidence supports; the single 1880 index entry is judged a clerk transcription variant, not a second wife.
