Charles J. Morrill was a prominent and wealthy businessman in Boston. In 1880 he is found in Boston living with his four sisters and four servants. [8]

In October 1865, Charles J. Morrill applied for a passport for himself, his sisters, and his mother Pamelia. The application was cosigned by his business partner, Ezra H. Baker. Baker & Morrill owned a number of ships and operated a shipping business in New England.
