NOTE: The Find a Grave memorial transcribes the stone of James W. Morrill at Black Mountain Cemetery, Sumner, with a death on 27 May 1873 and an age of years, 1 month and 7 days. The years are garbled in the transcription, but one month and seven days before 27 May is 20 April, the day and month of his birth, and the age would be 57 for a birth in 1816. The memorial names his wife Sylvira Rowe Morrill (1816-1910) and a daughter, Cora Ann H. Morrill, who died in 1842; his wife Sylvina, born 1817, died at Sumner on 8 January 1910, and the memorial spells her Sylvira and gives her maiden name as Rowe. The memorial does not give a birth date.

The 1850 census entry already recorded for him cites Oxford, page 144, and has not been matched to the Peru entry. The index spells the daughter Abby R. in 1850 and Abby H. in 1870, where the tree has Abbey R.

The 1850 and 1860 census indexes read Sylvira and the 1870 index reads Sylvia; the Maine vital-record index for her death reads Sylvisa and names her father Joseph Rowe and her mother Elinor Irish; the Find a Grave memorial reads Sylvira Rowe Morrill; and the Maine births index records Sylvira Rowe, born 28 June 1816 at Hebron, to Joseph Rowe and Elenor. The name Sylvira Rowe and the birth of 28 June 1816 replace the earlier Sylvina and 1817; an age of 93 years 6 months at death on 8 January 1910 agrees with 1816. The death-record index gives Peru, Oxford County, as the place of death, which replaces the earlier uncited Sumner; she was buried at Black Mountain Cemetery in Sumner. The death-record index is a secondary record and the memorial is a contributor-built page, so the Rowe surname and the parentage rest on them until a certificate or church record is seen.
