Adeline Holbrook married a Jonathan Cain in 1863. While married to Jonathan Cain she had a relationship with George W. Dyer, 25 years her senior, who was also married. Adeline had 5 children–Henry Cain, Ella Cain, George Dyer, Frank Dyer, and Minnie Dyer. Minnie was adopted by Marshall and Aurilla Morrill.
