Marriage, husband and children. The 1912 Williams County marriage license authorizes the marriage of Reinhold Schultz, aged 37, and Fila Morrill of Springbrook, North Dakota, aged 25; the 1948 Minnesota death record of Reinhold Frank Schultz names his wife as Fila Morrill. The 1920, 1930 and 1940 censuses list Fila, born in South Dakota with a Massachusetts-born father and a New York-born mother, with husband Reinhold F. and their children Arnolda, Lloyd, Joyce, Gladys and Leon; the surnames are indexed Schultz, Schuetz and Shultz, and the husband as Reinfield, Reinhold and Reinboidt. In the 1900 census at Fergus Falls Fila M., 13, born in South Dakota, is the daughter of Alman H. and Laura Morrill, and in the 1910 census she was a boarder at Loma, North Dakota. The censuses give her birthplace as South Dakota, though she is also recorded as born in Minnesota; the place of her birth needs confirming. Needs independent verification: Reinhold’s 1874 birth at Spring Valley, Minnesota; Lloyd’s death date; Joyce’s birth and death records, since the obituary index gives Lewiston as her residence rather than her place of death; and birth records for Arnolda, Gladys and Leon, whose years rest on census ages.[6]
Death and burial. The Oregon death index gives Fila May Schultz, born 25 April 1887, as dying on 18 May 1980 in Wallowa County, and a Find a Grave memorial places her burial at Enterprise Cemetery, Enterprise, Wallowa County, giving the same birth day as the index and a birthplace of Watertown, Codington County, South Dakota, where other accounts give Minnesota and the censuses South Dakota. Needs independent verification: the Oregon death certificate image or an obituary for the place of death and the birthplace.[10]
